VantaPsy Shifting to Pixel JRPG

Overview

For past couple months, I've been working on assignments and getting my Bachelor of Arts degree. Because of this, I haven't been able to make much progress on VantaPsy Soul Snatcher. Not directly, that is. On top of that, I was struggling with the visual design of VantaPsy, since locations were being modelled in 3D and many scenes drawn like a comic book. So I decided to shift everything to something easier to pull of, which will also look better than what I had intended.


Going Pixel

VantaPsy will now be a pixel rpg type game. However, I am still using the RenPy engine, so there'll be limitations. For one, which is really the only big issue, you won't be able to control the character directly, and instead, it will be point and click. Think Persona 3 Portable. Other than that, it'll be an adventure game, with some rpg elements, and an enhanced focus on story, side stories, and characters.

Current Progress

This is my last couple months working to get my Bachelor of Arts degree in Motion Design and Animation, after which I will be putting a lot more effort into VantaPsy Soul Snatcher. I have already tested the new art style along with scenes, and honestly, it's way better. So hopefully things will go a lot smoother.
